Abstract :
In « l’influence de l’imagerie médicale sur les représentations du corps » (”The influence of medical imaging on body representation”) Stéphanie Gaumond and Pierre Jarlan present a study on the impact of medical imaging on internal body representation. Beginning by a poll study on the influence of medical imaging on society, they continue to present results based on their anthropologic works: social construction of the interior body, resulting from medical imaging and the influence of this imaging as foundation of therapeutic approaches in personal representation of the body. Furthermore, they depict the potential role of such type of imaging as a didactic element.
